Refraction Newsletter 60
We return to NYC this week (RSVP below), drop a grey93 free mint on Zora, and launch Artists x Refraction on Orb. Let's get to it!
Hello again!
Mainnet is this week in NYC and we are very excited to invite you to our community celebration @ The Red Pavilion on Wednesday. We’ve asked a couple of our favourite humans Lloyd (The Lot Radio & Night Moves) and Blakamex (Refraction’s own Greg Liburd) to provide the music, and we’ll be presenting a new work by creative collective grey93 as a free mint on Zora (more details below). If you’re not familiar with The Red Pavilion, it’s both super stylish and intimate so space is limited.
As always, the best way to guarantee a spot is to hold a REFRACT Pass.
Otherwise, you can RSVP through this type form (mention the newsletter if you don’t have a community affiliation). Thanks to our partner Towns for helping make this happen, as well as our community partners FWB, Lens and Zora!
As we mentioned above, we’re excited to present a special art drop ‘Internet DJ’ by grey93 for our NYC event next week 💿
For those not familiar, the Toronto-based multifaceted creative studio have created captivating visuals for the likes of Travis Scott and Burna Boy, and now are dropping an excerpt from the GREY93VERSE — a day in the life of the grey93 avatar, supported with visuals through their experiences all over the world in the last few years.
Available to collect as a free mint on Zora - Sept 20, 12pm EST
We’re big believers that web3’s promise of a more open, transparent, and user-owned internet also extends to your social graph— and that a creator's content and followers should be owned by the creator—not the platform. This digital sovereignty opens up new opportunities for artists that we’re learning about in real time.
That's why we launched Artists x Refraction on Orb.
Think of this as a curated corner of web3 where artists, curators, collectors and art fans can share and collect new work, collaborate, discover new artists, and stay inspired, all while learning how to take advantage of the platform 💖 Drop in and say hi! If you don’t have a Lens handle, hit us up at comms@refractionfestival.com - and we may be able to hook you up! Also if you’re an artists, keep an eye out for an upcoming fellowship on Lens!
